Student

How do I Join?

Go to masterclinician.org and click "Join Now" then select "Student."

how much does my subscription cost?

Master Clinician Network is $45 for an annual subscription.  Your subscription will automatically renew.

Members may cancel their subscription at any time, and still have access to their account until one year from their last payment date. 

Refunds may be available if an emailed request is submitted within 48 hours of payment, providing there is no work done within that time.

how do i use a university Registration code?

If your university has paid for your membership, you will have a Registration Code. This is not a Free-Trial Code, or a password.

Follow the instructions above to "Join Now".

Once you have filled out your information, select "Create Account." This will take you to the payment page.

Select "Registration Code" and input the code given to you by your university. Then click "Redeem."

how do i Change my university affiliation?

If you accidentally selected the wrong university, or have recently changed universities, don’t stress!

Simply go to your “Edit Profile” section and click on the pencil icon next to your listed university.

Select your new university from the drop down menu, and click the turquoise “Update University” button.

how do i submit a Guided observation Assignment?

Go to the video you would like to watch and click the red "Start Observation" button.

Select the faculty member who has agreed to approve your guided observation, and click "next."

Watch 100% of the video, and answer the observation questions. Then hit "Submit Assignment."

Your submitted observation assignment will appear under "My Archive" as, "Pending".

Why Can’t I see the red “Start Observation” button?

Unfortunately Master Clinician Network is not currently supported by Internet Explorer, or old versions of Safari or Firefox.

You will need to update your browser, or switch to a fully supported browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

If changing your browser does not solve the problem, this means a security setting on your computer is blocking the questions. You will need to make sure your settings allow for full access to Master Clinician Network.

Why Can’t I see the video?

This is most likely due to a security setting on your computer or browser. You will need to make sure your settings allow for full access to Master Clinician Network.

how do i cancel my subscription?

Open "Edit Profile" and click on the red "Manage Subscription" button. Then select “Cancel Subscription”.

You will still have access to the site until one year from your most recent payment date.

how do i retrieve my guided observation report?

If your membership has expired, simply log into your old account and click the turquoise “Download Observation Report” button located at the bottom of the payment page.

Please do not input your credit card information, as we do not charge for this report.

If your membership is still active, simply log into your current account and go to your “My Archive” section. Next click the red “Download Report” button at the bottom of the “Guided Observations” tab.


Faculty

how do I approve observation hours?

Go to your "Observation | Assignments" page. Here you will see pending assignments that need to be approved.

When you click on an assignment, the answered question set will open. Here you can read the student's answers, and provide debriefing.

If the student has answered all the questions to your satisfaction click "Approve".  If they have not, click "Reject." Rejecting an assignment will send it back to the student.

Once you have approved the assignment. It will move to the "Student Database". Here you will be able to view and download a student's "Observation Report".

how do i check on a student's progress?

The "Student Database" holds your student's information.

Click on a student's name, and their relevant information will appear.

Under "Observations" you will see both pending and approved observation hours, and clicking "Download Report" will give you their completed observation report showing only approved observation hours.

Under "Non-Observation Assignments" you will see any non-observation assignments you have assigned them.

Under "Videos Watched" you will see a list of all the videos a student has watched, as well as what percentage of each video they have completed.

how do i assign a video?

There are two ways to assign a video.

1.      You can assign a video directly from the Video View Page.

Go to the video you would like to assign and click "Assign." 

Decide if the assignment is going to count towards observation hours, or if it is a non-observation assignment.

Select a question set (see How do I create my own questions below).

Choose the students or groups you want to assign the video to (See How do I create a group below).

Click "Assign."

2.      You can assign a group of videos from your library page.

Go to the collection of videos (in your library) you would like to assign and click the "Assign Collection" button.

Decide if the assignment is going to count towards observation hours, or if it is a non-observation assignment.

Please note that collections that include clips cannot be assigned for observation hours.

Select either a default question set, or one of your custom question sets (see How do I create my own questions below).

Choose the student(s) or group(s) you want to assign the video to (See How do I create a group below).

Click "Assign."

how do i create my own questions?

You can create your own question sets from the "Question Bank" in your "My Office" menu, or from the "Question Bank" in the video view page.

Click "New Question Set" and enter the title of your question set.

Type in your question, and select your question type (Likert, T-F, Multiple Choice, Short Answer).

Click the (+) to the left to add another question.

Click the (-) to the right to delete a question.

Once you have finished click "Save Question Set"

To edit a created question set, click the gear symbol.

how do i create a group?

Go to your office page, and select "Create New Group"

Name your group, and add student members.

Please note that only students that are current subscribers will appear in your list of students.

Students can be put into multiple groups.

Click "Save"

The groups you create will appear as an option when you assign videos and collections, or share collections.
